how do i do this problem:write an equation of a line that has the same slope as y=2/3+5 with a y intercept of -8?

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

well, comparing to y=mx+b, you know that 5 is the y-intercept of the equation just substitute -8 instead of 5.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so would it be y=2/3x -8??

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

Yup!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wait but if i graph it on a coordinate plane wouldnt look like a different slope tho??

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

Are you in 9th grade?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no 8th

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

Oh, nice! I also took alg in 8th.

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):
