I need a study buddy for a little bit. I am very behind in my history class and everything needs to be in tonight! I just have a few questions about times in the 1920s. I give medals! I am in desperate need of help!
I am pretty good at history and will try to help you!
Thank you so much! i was working with my boyfriend but he fell asleep. -__- I have 4 assignments that i need help with but you dont have to help with all of them.
my first question on the first assignment is: Briefly explain the causes and consequences of the Red Scare. (I dont know anything about the red scare)
Here's a tip: Wikipedia is your best friend :) I dont know if your teachers have scared you, but its completely RELIABLE. The Red Scare was caused by a fear of the spread of Communism starting from the Russian Revolution. McCarthyism is a manifestation of that in the US. Artisits, Politicians, literally anyone was put on trial if accused of being communist or a sympathizer. The Western World was on high alert as it viewed it a threat to the foundations of their society.
hahaha (: I really enjoy learning history but doing it on online school, i find it very boring and hard to focus. so i have not learned anything! I have to have an 80% in the class by tomorrow afternoon or i will have to take the final exam and i know i will fail... now that paragragh, was that taken from wikipedia, or is that in your own words?
I knew what the Red Scare was, but double checked on Wikipedia to make sure I was right. It is in my own words but essentially the same information is on the site.
Thank you very much (: now my second question: Following World War I, what international peace and relief efforts was the United States involved in and why?
We made the League of Nations (but that failed). Look up Wilson's 14 point plan (too long for me to write out sorry) but essentially it was like peace on steroids. This speech outlined a policy of free trade, open agreements, democracy and self-determination. It also called for a diplomatic end to the war, international disarmament, moving out of occupied territories, the creation of a Polish state, the redrawing of Europe's borders along ethnic lines (Italy in particular).
thank youu (: number three: Explain how tourism and a land boom developed during this time.
Haha, sorry. this one I actually do not know. I didnt even know we had a land boom? You still have textbooks for your online course, right? Maybe it's in there....
i shall look it up in my lessons later. next question then.. How did World War I impact attitudes in society?
United States finally emerged as a superpower. We were industrializing quickly and we were quick to party hardy (roaring twenties, great economy and great fun).
I would say confidence in the USA pretty much.
awesome sauce (: Discuss the role of the arts in 1920s American society.
American literature really grew and shaped an American identity. See Fitzgerald, Hemingway, etc. Vaudeville and other forms of small entertainment also became popular. Sorry don't know too much about this either.
I am going to need some coffee. :3 How did civil rights issues both unite and divide society in the United States during this time?
I would say people came together over equality and fair treatment but harbored racism and prejudice still existed making a stark contrast between people who wanted segregation and those who didnt. Look at KKK terrorism and reactions after Brown v Board of Education but also MLK's March on Washington.
Briefly discuss decisions made by national and state governments related to immigration and other civil rights issues.
