Line IJ has an equation of a line y = 6x - 5, and line KL has an equation of a line y = 6x + 3. These two lines are (5 points) Select one: a. parallel because the slopes of the lines are equal b. perpendicular because the slopes are opposite reciprocals c. both equations of the same line d. not parallel or perpendicular

@apple_pi

OpenStudy (lucaz):

parallel lines have the same slope, perpendicular lines have the negative reciprocal slope the equations are in the y=mx+b form, the y-intercept form you can see the slopes are 6 on both equations

OpenStudy (akashdeepdeb):

If this is a line y = mx+ c Then m is a slope and c is the y-intercept. What similarity do you see in the equations?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wher did you get that profile picture

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so b @lucaz

OpenStudy (lucaz):

the slopes are 6, they are equal

OpenStudy (akashdeepdeb):

It should be A because there slopes are equal and slopes define how inclined they are, along the positive direction of the x-axis and if there inclinations are same they are considered to be parallel!! Understood @prowrestler ? :)

ok kool
