Why do speakers emphasize particular words and phrases? A. To make the language is more memorable B. To remind the audience of the theme C. To make a claim seem logical D. To avoid counterarguments

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think A or B but not really sure

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well probably A, but if someone could affirm that, that'd be great

OpenStudy (destinymasha):

I think B. To remind the audience of the theme Consider Spoken Word - a poet might say ''no one said anything , because they THOUGHT they were wrong, and they THOUGHT their opinions were not valuable.

OpenStudy (destinymasha):

[im not a poet , sorry]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Alright. I get what your saying. Thanks!

OpenStudy (destinymasha):

your welcome!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think it would be A. If a speaker emphasizes words it sticks in our memory more, as opposed to someone speaking in a monotone voice.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah... that's what I would think but I think it could go either way :/
