Medal + Fan if answered How might similarities and differences in genetic codes, or the proteins built as a result of these codes, be used to determine how closely related different species are?

OpenStudy (zubhanwc3):

differences in genetic codes are places where a character may be deleted, or a set of characters may be added, etc. The closer the codes are, but noting where the added and deleted characters are, the closer the keys are to being the same. The closer they are to being the same, the closer the species are to being related.

OpenStudy (zubhanwc3):

hope it makes sense

OpenStudy (zubhanwc3):

i can give examples if needed.

OpenStudy (petiteme):

The code is the same for all organisms. In general, the closer the sequence is similar between any two organisms, the more closely related those two species are and vice versa.

OpenStudy (petiteme):

Do i make sense? Lol. Sorry if I don't.

OpenStudy (zubhanwc3):

it does, did i?

OpenStudy (petiteme):

Yes you do :D
