OpenStudy (anonymous):

can you please explain how to do this problem

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't have a calculator on me, but you would use law of cosines

OpenStudy (arabpride):

This is an isosceles triangle so therefore there are going to be 2 sides and angles that are the same value....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

knowing all this info how would i get the answer?

OpenStudy (arabpride):

ok first off, we know that 3 sides of a triangle have to add up to 180 degreez....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (arabpride):

so u have to make an equation equal 180 degreez, like so: x + x + 74 = 180 degrees

OpenStudy (anonymous):

180-74=106 106/2=53 x=53

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so it would be x + x + 74 = 180 2x=106 x=53

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes:D

OpenStudy (arabpride):

soo 2x + 74 = 180 then u have to subtract 74 from both sides.....|dw:1389812081244:dw|
