Like mammals, dolphins breathe air, but they are born underwater. Which is an innate behavior that the newborn dolphin needs to survive? A. an ability to communicate with clicks and whistles B. an impulse to swim to the surface C. special eyes that see underwater D. a blowhole on top of its head I know what innate means i'm just stumped on this one.

OpenStudy (zubhanwc3):

i would assume b or d, B beacuse it is a behavior, but d allows it to breathe.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

which one is it

OpenStudy (zubhanwc3):

@shayleeCutie My response was in sarcasm. the question is a behavior. If b didnt exist, even though they have a blowhole, they arent going to get air, they need the impulse to traverse the surface where air is available, which is b
