I give medals! can somebody help me Explain how freedoms for African Americans were economically limited from 1865 to 1900? it needs to be just one paragraph in your own words. this is my last question on this assignment and i dont know what to say.
This is really not a difficult question. Open any American history book. 1. Ku Klux Klan was a group of people who wore robes and masks and pretended to be the ghosts of the Confederate soldiers. They were scared of changes, and the rising rights of the African Americans, who they wanted to be labourors and slaves. So, they attacked them, usually by putting their homes on fire. There were many kinds of racist attitudes towards African Americans, and not only in the South, but in the North aswell. 2. Poverty was still a global issue in the South, where man y white southerners had lost their lands, and the blacks were newly freed, and therefore, had no economic opportunities. This caused them to be trapped in a poverty cycle. African Americans had little job offerings. 3. Industrilization in the South was too slow. 4. Sharecropping & tenant farming were bad because they usually brought more complications like who would get what, and wasn't fair to the laborors on the land. 5. Corruption happened when the people would pay taxes, and that money was used in the wrong way. Like, just a lit tle percent would be used seriously, and the rest would go in the government's pockets. 6. Blackcodes were used at the beggining of the Reconstruction, where as freedmen, the blacks still had pressure about things like when to meet with friends. They were restrictions on the w ay a freedman should live. 7. Taxes were elevated in order to rebuild the South. 8. Jim Crow Laws which supported discrimination & racial segregation. And once an keep going, as social limitations were distinctly elevated in the years following the Reconstruction Era.
Here is my paragraph: Although the Thirteenth Amendment had outlawed slavery, it was clear that the Black codes were stilled a problem to many freedmen. The Black codes, which passed soon after the Civil War ended, helped maintain a cheap source of farm labor and sustained the social hierarchy. These codes made it illegal for African Americans to carry weapons or vote. They could not serve on juries, testify in court against or marry white citizens, or travel without permits. The Black codes weren't completely gone until 1868 when the 14th amendment was ratified. Not many other extreme problems occurred until the end of the 19th century when the Jim Crow laws emerged. Jim Crow laws were racial segregation laws that separated white citizens and African Americans in schools, hospitals, parks, and on railroads.
I needed things in your own words. that was word for word everything in the lesson. not gonna get hit for plagiarism.
