Because they are still developing. They might not know that washing your hands when you come out the bathroom is important, or cleanliness and immunizations are not mandate. They might drink polluted water ( they dont have access to clean water) and get contagious diseases.

Them even trying to trade might bring in foreign sicknesses and diseases. (Consider the bubonic plague)

Like cooking meat on the ground, they are unknowingly contaminating food.

And of couse, HIV / AIDS when no one is there to educate them about safe sex, etc they wont know.

No problem, i diddnt understand very much of the other answer that someone posted. yours made more sense
