The expression below shows the population of foxes in a forest after 12x years.
f(x) = 50(1.05)12^x
Which of the following is an equivalent function?
f(x) = 50(1.7959)^x
f(x) = 50(12.6000)^x
f(x) = 600(1.05)^x
f(x) = 4.2(1.05)^x
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Oops, in the first equation, the 12x is raised.*

@mathmale I don't remember anything about this.
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Do you mean that the first expression should say f(x)=50(1.05)^(12x)?

Yes @Principes
OpenStudy (anonymous):
\[f(x) = 50(1.05)^{12x}\] is my guess
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Yes, correct.
OpenStudy (anonymous):
that is the same as
\[f(x)=50\left((1.05)^{12}\right)^x\]
OpenStudy (anonymous):
find \(1.05^{12}\) and that will be what you need

It should be equivalent to 50(1.7959)^x, rather very very similar.
