Mai earns a salary of $200 per week plus an additional 5% commission on her sales. If Mai’s weekly salary increases by $25 and her commission increases to 6%, how much will she earn if her weekly sales are $2,500?

I think that the equation that you need is as follows --> f(x)=2500(.05) The 2500 represents her weekly sales, the .05 is the percent of the weekly sales that she earns (PS - the f(x) is the same as y, but is proper in this situation). You then add 5% of 2500 (which is $125) and 225 (her weekly salary). This would give you $350.
