uranium-235 has a half-life of 713 million years. would uranium-235 or carbon-14 be more useful for dating a fossil from precambrian time?

OpenStudy (aaronq):

carbon-14 has a half life of about 5500 years.. so after 50,000 years, its not really reliable. I'm not sure when the "precambrian" era was, but if it's older than 50,000 year, i would go with uranium.
