lily estimated a quotient of 120 and found an actual of quotient of 83 what should she do next ? explain please?

OpenStudy (mathmale):

An estimate is an estimate! But that 120 is still pretty far away from 83. In Lily's shoes I'd find the actual quotient again, and then re-examine the rounded-off numerator and denominator that I used to estimate the value of the quotient. We get better and better at choosing such stand-in numbers for estimation as we get experience.
