Since two angles are congruent, x+14 is the base of an isosceles triangle.
Because of that, two legs 5x-10 and 3x+12 are congruent(means they are equal.)
Good luck!
OpenStudy (anonymous):
agh im so confused atm :/
OpenStudy (superdavesuper):
u notice the bottom two angles are the same right?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
yess

Do u know what an isosceles triangle is?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
yess
OpenStudy (superdavesuper):
Because the two angles are equal, it is an isosceles triangle ok?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
okay
OpenStudy (superdavesuper):
So the two sides are the same length ok?

OpenStudy (anonymous):
well i did the who 180 -30-30 = 120;/ soo confused haha im trying though or did i have to do 5x-10=3x+12?
OpenStudy (superdavesuper):
second eqn is the right one to use :)
OpenStudy (anonymous):

Given the figure as marked, find the value of x.
5 9
20 22
OpenStudy (superdavesuper):
Almost exactly the same thing - notice the two angles are the same so now the iso. triangle is lying sideway =p
OpenStudy (anonymous):
haha true but idk how id start the equation if its only 3x+5
