19a -7 - 3a + 12a=0 terms with only numericals are similar type of terms so keep them one side and transfer the others.. 19a-3a+12a = 7 - sign becomes +ve on changing side add all the like terms.. you will get 28a = 7 a= 7/28 = 1/4
