Evaluate the expression for x = 3 and y = 6. 5(x2 + y) + y2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

your answer is 72 . PEMDAS

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I got 111

OpenStudy (anonymous):

5(9+6) + 36 so 9+6=15 and 15 times 5 = 75 plus 36 equals 111

OpenStudy (anonymous):

5((3) 2 +y)+(6)2 5(6+6) 5(12) +12 60+12 72

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think she meant x square and y squared and not x times 2 and y times 2... but I'm not sure

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I just plugged them in I don't see where you are getting 9 from....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3 squared

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but like i said maybe she meant 3 times 2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):
