I need some help!! Identify the domain of the graph of y = -x2 - 6x - 13

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

well what x values could you input into the equation...to get a y value..?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't know??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i might know

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

well the domain is the values of x that you can input... could you put in say -30 500, -20000 and get a y value...?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh so you are suppose to substitute something for x ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x ≤ -4 x ≥ -6 x ≥ -2 These are the options that they gave me So could you use one of these for x?

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

here are some good on-line notes that help to understand domain and range http://www.purplemath.com/modules/fcns2.htm

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

lol... well then that's funny as there must be a little more to the question. as the domain for the curve that you have posted is all real x.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So the domain is all real numbers?

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

that would be my answer... but you weren't given that choice

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok thanks so much for your input in really helps!!:)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thx @campbell_st

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that is all real number lol lifesaver guys ;)
