I did research and this is what i got: she could have been more tolerant of Catholics, but then again, she was pretty tolerant, especially as far as monarchs of that time go. She did 'supposedly' have affairs with her coutriers and showed them favor. Also, while i personally don't think its bad, she wouldn't marry and she wouldn't have kids. She knew that if she married the husband would end up taking over the rule (which happened to her sister, Mary I who reigned before her.) Also, i mean come on, she grew up with Henry VIII as her father. She didn't exaclty have a good role model for marriage.
this ones better: She could be extremely harsh towards anyone who displeased her. She imprisoned her cousin, Katherine Grey, for marrying without royal permission, and Katherine and her husband languished in prison for some years. When Katherine was dying, Elizabeth refused permission for her husband to visit her. She could be very spiteful towards her ladies in waiting. Once when a girl revealed that she wanted to marry, Elizabeth promised to speak to her father on the girl's behalf, but then she told the girl that she would not let her marry after all, which seems terribly unkind. She had a foul temper and would box her ladies ears, or throw things at them if they annoyed her, and once she stabbed one of them in the hand with a knife. In the later years of her reign, she got heavily into debt, and she died four hundred thousand pounds in debt, which was a very large sum in those days. She avoided finding a satisfactory solution to the relationship between crown and parliament, which led to problems for her successsors.
Thanks !
