Find the solution of this system of equations.. -2x + 3y = -3 -2x - 5y = -75 @warood

you can either use elimination or substitution. elimination is the best method for this. your supposed to eliminate one variable. to do so the coefficient infront of it must be the same number but opposite signs so it will subtract out. first multiply either equation by a -1. im choosing the second equation. so you should have 2x+5y=75 now. line up the 2 equations and add them vertically. the x values will cancel out and you now have 8y=72. divide both sides by 8. y=9. now pick either of the original equations and substitute 9 in for y. im choosing the first equation. -2x +3 (9) = -3. solve. x=15.
