4 diveded by 2 2/5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is this what you mean?:\[4 \div 2\frac{ 2 }{ 5 }\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\frac{ 4 }{ 2\frac{ 2 }{ 5 } } = \frac{ 4 }{ \frac{ 12 }{ 5 } } = 4*\frac{ 5 }{ 12 } = \frac{ 4*12 }{ 5 }\]

If so, convert the fraction to a decimal [not that hard]. You already know that "2" is going before the decimal and 2 divided by 5 is going on the right side of the decimal. So...\[2\frac{ 2 }{ 5 }=2.4\]Now we can continue our equation...\[4\div2.4\]I think you can do this on a calculator, no?
