x is 6 since the triangles are similar and the base of the smaller triangle is 10 which is one half the bigger

Can you explain the steps used to reach that conclusion?

Okay since FGH is similar to MNP then the trianles are similar therefore they have to have the same ratio around the whole triangle so if the ratio is 1/2 for the base then the ratio is 1/2 on the other sides make sense?
