How do you get the answer 10.5 from the question 18-3x2.5? Please answer!:)

OpenStudy (poopsiedoodle):

Well, since multiplication always comes before subtraction in multi-sign math problems, you would first multiply 3 and 2.5, which is 7.5. Then, you would subtract said 7.5 from 18, which gives you 10.5.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

But wait how do you subtract 7.5 from 18

OpenStudy (poopsiedoodle):

You subtract 7 from 18, giving you 11, and then you subtract 0.5 from 11, which gives you the answer of 10.5.
