Simple enough.. Both of those are lines. Let's start with: y=-2x+5. Pick any value for x. What do you want to pick?

Ok, now plug it into the equation to find y when x=-2: y = -2x+5 = -2*(-2)+5 = 4+5 = 9 So you know that y=9 when x=-2 Let's mark that on the axis: |dw:1389923731518:dw| Note, the picture's not drawn to scale, couldn't fit the 9 in there..
