OpenStudy (anonymous):

where do free nucleotides come from?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Cells can synthesise the nucleotides, or they can be obtained from food (the same way amino acids are). The nucleotides are floating around in the cell cytoplasm, and the cell has acquired those by engulfing other cells, absorbing them, or producing them with enzymes.

OpenStudy (abb0t):

they are synthesized in our bodies.
