Atoms are made up of 3 types of particles. Electrons are tiny (small mass), negatively charged, & found outside the nucleus. Protons are much larger & heavier (large mass), positively charged, & found inside the nucleus. Neutrons are large & heavy (large mass) like protons but have no electrical charge, & are also found inside the nucleus.
