Use the following functions to answer the question. f(x) = 2x - 3 g(x) = 2 h(x) = 3x What is f(g(x))?

OpenStudy (the_fizicx99):

If i remember correctly you plug in 2 for the x in f(x) f(g(x)) = 2(2) - 3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah thats correct^^

OpenStudy (the_fizicx99):

dayum my memory sucks >.<

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So it would it be 1 or 4x-3?

OpenStudy (the_fizicx99):

4x - 3

OpenStudy (the_fizicx99):

that is the composition of two functions

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Woah woah woah... 1 or 4x-3??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1

OpenStudy (the_fizicx99):

4x - 3 is the composition of two functions, that's the composition of the 2 functions

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the answer is one..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay... I'll go with one.... thanks

OpenStudy (anonymous):

NO PROBLEM!!!

OpenStudy (the_fizicx99):

._. did they ask to evaluate the function? Other wise they just asked the composition of the 2 functions ...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

They asked what is f(g(x))

OpenStudy (anonymous):

they said to effin answer the question the value of f(g(x)) is 1

OpenStudy (the_fizicx99):

Then just the composition, thats what I was taught
