Are these right?
draw and name all of the structural isomers that are ketones with five carbon atoms in its longest chain and the molecular formula C5H10O. Can this molecular formula also have an aldehyde structure? If so, illustrate and name the aldehyde. Can this be drawn as an ether? Explain.
ketones:2-pentanone, 3-pentanone, 3methylbutan-2one Aldehyde:Pentanal, 2-methylbutanal,3-methylbutanal, pivaldehyde(2,2-dimethylpropanal) Ether:Tetrahydropyran,2-methyltetrahydrofuran ???? Im not sure about the ethers. Thx
I don't think tetrahydropyran is an ether. I already drew an 1 of the ether isomers for you on your last post. And I also listed the total number of aldehydes, ketones, and alcohols. You should have 9. And if you want to proceed to draw ALL isomers, you should get 20.
The one you drew, what is the name of it?
It's a pyran. I guess you could consider it an ether since it does have the R-O-R' type bond.
there was one with hexagon shaped and another with lines. What is the one with lines?

CH3-CH2-O-CH=CH-CH3 CH2=CH-O-CH2CH2CH3 CH3-CH2-O-CH2-CH=CH2 Name of these?
That's 3-ethoxyprop-1-ene
