The figure below shows a transversal t which intersects the parallel lines PQ and RS. Write a paragraph to prove that the measure of angle 3 is equal to the measure of angle 5.

@PigPresident can u help w this one?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hmmmm.....let me try if not sorry

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its ok, but ik it has something to do w corresponding angles

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok i learned that already about the corresponding angles..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thats great

OpenStudy (anonymous):

u remember those right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well... i guess i found part of this.. hold on.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Since line PQ is given to be parallel to line RS and since 3 and 5 are alternate interior angles, we know that angle 3 is congruent to angle 5 because if parallel lines are cut by a transversal, then the alternate interior angles are congruent.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

u also remember all the alternate interior angle stuff or no?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh ok i get it, and yes i do

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh okay..=)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is there more?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes, just one sec

OpenStudy (anonymous):

kk

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hmm...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

they would be able to explain more.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

aw, that sucks
