calculate the partial derivative for… f(x, y) = x^(−1)y^(2) + xy^(2) + xy fx? fy?

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

How would you find \(f'(x)\;if\;f(x) = \dfrac{a^{2}}{x} + a^{2}x + ax\), for some real parameter, a?

In otherwords, find the partial derivative of x by pretending y is a constant and find the partial derivative of y by pretending that x is a constant. Remember that the derivative of a a constant times a function is the constant times the derivative of the function.
