!!! One Medal Question !!!
- What is climate? How does it differ from weather? - What is a rain shadow? - How does climate influence plant growth?
Climate can be defined as the normal atmospheric conditions in a region. A rain shadow is formed by a mountain and refers to the lack of rain behind a mountain. The main factors of climate that affect plant growth are the amount of rain and temperature. High rainfall will cause a lot of plant growth like in tropical climates while lack of rain will cause few plants to grow. Temperature has a certain optimum point at which the most growth occurs. Below or beyond this point, plant growth will decrease.
rain shadow is a region having little rainfall because it is sheltered from prevailing rain-bearing winds by a range of hills.
Well if the climate is too hot, the plants will die of thirst and will shrivel up.
If it's too cold, the plants will die from lack of sun.
Climate is also long term, where as weather is short term, like the weather tomorrow, climate can be looked as, such as if you're looking at the ice age.
For the first question, Can you do the second part of it ? How does it differ from weather?
