how do I simplify (8x^2-3)(8x^2+5)

OpenStudy (avai70178):

What does ^ mean?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

8x^2....the 2 would be the exponent

OpenStudy (avai70178):

Ok so that's basically 8x^4+2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks I see, I think

OpenStudy (avai70178):

Lol just add the exponents and since 5 is positive and 3 is negative you get 2. That leaves you with 8x^4+2.
