My draw and equation buttons don't work! :(

OpenStudy (isaiah.feynman):

tanx= sinx/cosx so sinx/cosx/sinx+1/cosx = sinx/sinx+1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so would it be 1?

OpenStudy (isaiah.feynman):

No. Its sinx/sinx+1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

o-o simplifying sinx/sinx?

OpenStudy (isaiah.feynman):

No. the denominator is sinx+1, by definition that expression can not be simplified further. This identity is true...a+b/c = a/c+b/c you could simplify if a and b equals c. But a/b+c CANNOT be broken down further.

OpenStudy (isaiah.feynman):

So final answer sinx/sinx+1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It doesn't fit with the multiple choice though

OpenStudy (isaiah.feynman):

What are your choices?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2sec(x) if the fractions are ( tan(x)/sin(x) ) + (1/cos(x))

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is that the problem, or are the fractions different?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If it is what I think you tried to type
