The Grand Prix Formula 1 race this weekend is in Singapore. The race consists of 61 laps around a 5.067km long track. At 225 miles per hour, how long will it take to go around once?

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

distance = speed x time but since we are looking for time, lets change the equation to : d/s = t distance = 5.067 km speed = 225 mph now we sub 5.067/225 = .02252 rounds to about 2 seconds to go around 1 lap

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

Thats sounds really fast...too fast. I think that is correct. 5.067 km is a little over 3 miles, so I guess thats right.
