please help with graphing

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you need to get this one into y=mx+b form. do you know how to do that?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

just a bit of algebra. distribute the 3/2.. then move the 3 to the other side by adding 3 to both sides

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh... let me graph it quick

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no. what is the equation you are using to graph it? y=???

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y-3=3/2(x-9)... so y-3=3/2x-6.. so y=(3/2)x-9

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you are just trying to isolate the y out of the equation. are you graphing by hand or using a graphing utility?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hint: y=mx+b where m = slope and b = y intercept. if m > 0, the line increases as x increases.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yep, D is correct.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah, its is tough material, that's for sure. It took mathematicians years and years to figure out these concepts. keep working with them and when you are dealing with cartesian coordinates (x y graph) ... remember the formulas for slope and point slope. they will help alot.

ill be around if you need more help.
