OpenStudy (nottim):

I think there may be something wrong with the equation tool. I can't see the equations others post. I've used both Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox.

OpenStudy (ash2326):

\[\frac{hello}{4}\] can you see this?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Nope, though I have an outdated browser and outdated java

OpenStudy (anonymous):

For draw, I just use MS paint, save the image attach the file

OpenStudy (nottim):

No I cannot.

OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):

OS is not rendering properly for some reason

thomaster (thomaster):

Well the mathjax is loading here, so the problem is somehow at your end. Go to this page: http://www.mathjax.org/demos/mathml-samples and check if you can see the latex rendered there. If so, your problem most likely lies in the mathjax settings on OpenStudy for your browser. Perhaps clearing the cache works.

thomaster (thomaster):

The equation tool however is not working here either, but that is a known problem and it is being fixed. Also the Draw tool doesn't work, instead it functions as the post button for some reason.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@thomaster, just providing some informations that might be helpful - mathjax works on http://www.mathjax.org/demos/mathml-samples, and also on all the other websites based on it like math stackexchange. - cleaning the cache (in fact the entire browser collected files) on chrome did not change anything, LaTeX still does not show up, ergo I cannot see \(\LaTeX\) rendered. - cleaning the cache and in addition disabling all the AddOns did not change the result. - Same procedure with Safari did not change the results System: Macintosh OS X 10.9 (Mavericks) Browsers: Safari 7.0, Google Chrome 32.0.1700.77 (both up to date)

@e.mccormick, I hope it is okay to link you here. I do not know the difference between a Moderator and an Employe of OpenStudy to be sincere (there is no indication of who does what). I know that the problem with the equation tool has already been addressed and is currently being looked into, was wondering if there are any suggestions/updates on what to do with mathJax LaTeX equations not showing up.

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

I am yet another mod, so there is nothing I can do or say about it. You can put LaTeX code into this: http://www.codecogs.com/eqneditor And see what it should be. You can also use that to make images to attach or for small things a postable link. http://latex.codecogs.com/gif.latex?%5Cdpi%7B150%7D%20%5Cbg_white%20%5Cfrac%7Bhello%7D%7B4%7D

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

@c0decracker Any eta on this problem?

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Hmmm.... works at work. So it either started working again in the last couple hours or it has a cause in the differences between home and work machines.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it still does not work here, also there is no preview function available while typing a post. \(\LaTeX \) \(\frac{1}{4}\) \(\lim_{n \to \infty}\)

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Yes. I have that at home. But here at work I see things just great. Hmmm.... I cleared cache, etc.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Maybe not the best reference, but I also just tested it on my mobile phone (Android Generation) and it doesn't work with the two integrated web browsers (Chrome and some standalone IE like)

OpenStudy (lastdaywork):

Visit - http://openstudy.com/study#/updates/52de57e0e4b003c643a10b24 And say thanks to Opcode

OpenStudy (preetha):

Ok, its on the task list and will get taken care of - hopefully in the next week.

OpenStudy (nottim):

Whoever suggested that MAthJax link, I can see it there.

OpenStudy (nottim):

I can see everything, as of March 10th.
