5 similarity between diamond and silicon(iv)oxide
@parisgirl1515 , @adrynicoleb , @loveya0587 pls help best answer gets medal
my best answer is idk sorry
1) They both have a tetrahedral crystal structure which imparts a certain hardness to the material 2) The are both found in nature, though SiO2 is more abundant 3) They are both very important industrially utilized materials 4) They both have high melting points (over 1500 K) 5) They are both relatively inert (stable to chemical reactivity) 6) They can both form clear uncolored crystals 7) They are both mined for extraction 8) They are both used ub optics applications etc.
your welcome :)
do u know more @loveya0587
u said 5
ist fine but i need 3 more cuz my onld nes are wronge
?
Yes.... Diamond is one of the hardest substances on the earth, which silicon oxide doesn't even compare... Silicon oxide is quite useless for glass cutting....diamond isn't... Diamond has a much higher refractive index than silicon oxide... Silicon oxide is a compound, whereas diamond is essentially an element...
@parisgirl1515 i asked for similarities not differences
oh okay sorry
haha
