a plane is passed through a parallelepiped, cutting all the lateral edges and forming a right section which is a square. If the lateral area of the solid is 216 cm^2 and a lateral edge measures 9 cm, find the measure of the one side of the section.
interesting...
lateral area = (perimeter of 'right section' ) * (slant height) 216 = 4s * 9 you can solve s
no...it's not an oblique prism but a right one
right one = reqtangle and the answer wud be the same :)
parallelepiped = oblique prism
if it were a right prism, the question wud say it so...
and solving wud be very easy for right prism
aHhh...I see...yeah it's not stated in the problem that it is a right prism I just assumed ^^...my mistake
assuming it as right prism wud make our life simple, however answer will not change as ikram said :)
is S=6 the final answer??? or it's not yet
s = 6 is \(\large \color{red}{\checkmark}\)
good work !
oH thank you very much...you're a great help ^^
np :)
