melancholly, is like dreadful or gloomy. an example could be edgar allen poes writing. context clues are like how the author uses setting, mood, and tone and even their speach to give us an idea. 
not entirely sure what they mean by season in the question, maybe a season of life. 
Im not good with answering english questions, so i dont know how much help I can be... 
i think contex clues is basically asking how they use their language to bring about something for the reader to conclude.
