Who invented the first one dollar bill of the United States of America?

The first one dollar bill was printed and distributed for legal tender in 1862. It featured an image of President Lincoln's Secretary of the Treasury, Salmon P. Chase, on the front. George Washington replaced Salmon P. Chase on the dollar bill in 1869.
