Two force vectors are perpendicular, that is, the angle between their directions is ninety degrees. If their magnitudes are 5.30 newtons and 5.24 newtons, then what is the magnitude of their sum?
apply vector algebra... or simple pythagoras theorem will do (Because the angle between the vectors in 90 degrees)....take the 2 vectors u mentioned as the 2 perpendicular sides of a right triangle(lenght of each side = magnitude of the corresponding vector),,,,,,find the hypotenuse ,,,lenght of the hypotenuse= magnitude of the resultant (sum)
sum of 7.45 newtons?
right...:)
also one more question, "If f(x) = 3x3, then what is the average value of the function over the interval from x = 1 to x = 4?" i got a average value of 16.25, but the system saids it's wrong.
3x3 means what????
sorry, 3x^3
use integration
is the answer 63.75??
i used integration, and got an enclosed area of 195/4, then i took the length of the interval of 4-1=3, which gave me (195/4)/(3)=16.25
is the answer 63.75?? only if my answer is right ,i may be in a position to help u,,,,,
because im not sure of the method myself :P
not sure, i'm given different numbers this time,"If f(x) = 2x^3, then what is the average value of the function over the interval from x = 0 to x = 3"
13.5??
yes, your answer is right
if u didnt understand, let me know...:)
ok, i see what i did wrong, thank you
The lengths of the three sides of a triangle (not necessarily a right triangle) are 2.46 meters, 7.89 meters and 9.72 meters. What is the cosine of the angle opposite the side of length 9.72 meters?
AB= 7.89m BC=2.46m AC= 9.72m|dw:1390244081275:dw| next,....
