Heat can travel???explain how

OpenStudy (isaiah.feynman):

Heat doesn't "travel", heat is transferred. Heat is motion, motion of atoms in high temperature region. When the jiggling atoms of hot coffee comes in contact with the non jiggling atoms of the cool cup, the jiggling atoms tend to "spread" the jiggle to the atoms of the cool cup, thus making the cup gradually warm.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The three most common types of heat transfer are convection, radiation, and conduction. Conduction → (a teaspoon dipped in hot water) Convection → (a pot of boiling water) Radiation → (how the sun's heat reaches the Earth's surface)
