I need help please, I need to know how to do this ! Find m

OpenStudy (anonymous):

180-38 = 142

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thats it ? @helpme1.2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a rectangle has 360 degree in over all so in the drawing, you can tell that 2 of the angles have similar measurement, and the other 2 has the same measurement <JML has different measurement than <JLM = 38 so the other angle must be 142 Make sense?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

38+38+142+142 = 360

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes! I get it Thanks! @helpme1.2 Help me with another one?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah

The isosceles trapezoid is part of an isosceles triangle with a 34 degree angle. What is the measure of an acute base angle of the trapezoid? Of an obtuse base angle? The diagram is not drawn to scale.

I don't want just the answer I would like to learn how to.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well as you u a triangle always has a measurement of 180 degree, so acute angles are the ones below 90 degrees obtuse angles are the one above 90 degrees-180 2x + 34 = 180 x = 73 180 - x 180-73 = 107

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Where did you get 2x ? and why did you choose 34 ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well 34 is a given degree we chose 2 to find the acute angles since 2 acute angles = 180

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh okay, Thanks allot! You really earned my Medal, Good testimonial, and Fan! Thanks for being patient!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

in a triangle 2 acute angles + the given degree (which in this case 34) = 180

No problem
