OpenStudy (nincompoop):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No idea what youre talking about

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It just says factor completely?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Its number 10

Expand the following: (5 m-8) (8 m+5)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@robtobey How did you get those two numbers? Im trying to use the diamond method for 3terms

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

Factor the following: 40 m^2-39 m-40 Factor 40 m^2-39 m-40 by finding factors of 40 (-40) whose sum is -39. Factor the quadratic 40 m^2-39 m-40. The coefficient of m^2 is 40 and the constant term is -40. The product of 40 and -40 is -1600. The factors of -1600 which sum to -39 are 25 and -64. So 40 m^2-39 m-40 = 40 m^2-64 m+25 m-40 = 5 m (8 m+5)-8 (8 m+5): 5 m (8 m+5)-8 (8 m+5) Factor common terms from 5 m (8 m+5)-8 (8 m+5). Factor 8 m+5 from 5 m (8 m+5)-8 (8 m+5): Answer: (8 m+5) (5 m-8)
