find the value of x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x=20 degrees.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you are awesome and super smart :)

OpenStudy (opcode):

@liliegirl please provide an explanation.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

actually it has to be 60,50,40 or 30..sorry, just looked

OpenStudy (opcode):

Okay here is my explanation! A triangle is 180 degrees. Since we already know one and is 100 degrees that means we have: 180 - 100 = 80 Since there are two angles that are congruent we can do: 80/2 = 40 So: x = 40

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you and it's okay liliegirl :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The triangle at the side is congruent... meaning to say the measurement of the angles are 60 deg. Since the measurement of the adjacent angle is 100 deg, then the remaining measurement is 20deg. x is also 20 deg because opposite angles are congruent.
