God wants everyone to worship and follow him and, if they don't, they burn in hell for all eternity. What does this type of attitude say about his character? By definition, he would be described as a tyrant.
@Opcode
According to the bible, god created us, he blew part of himself into us, this we all have part of him. According to this logic, he owns us, we are his property. He has the right to whatever he wants since it's his property according to the John Locke.
But he gives us free will
What do people do with that free will?
Follow there own religion. But in his book you will burn in hell for that.
So they will, what is your argument here?
Jesus died on the cross for all are sins why would we go to hell
For we have sinned again, (not to bash) but the bible forbids homosexuality, thus this sin is yet more common than ever.
Vengeance is a strong emotion and everyone has it to some extent even those taught to forgive. If one's child is murdered is it wrong for the parents to seek revenge. Even if one is able to forgive does that mean their willing to have another's child killed. What ever hell is like, punishment: correction; non-existence, I'm sure it will be a place where others are no longer harmed.
Man I don't believe in the bible and i never will I can't iv'e read the whole thang nothing makes since we need to get ya'll to understand that the bible is a fairytale
No one is forcing you to believe in god, or the bible, you are allowed your own belief. You simply wanted to debate views, so I gave you what I viewed, I am not trying to convert anyone to any religion, just voicing what I think, yet you seem so set on theory you just don't understand the point of religion, which is belief, not something many people have. So let's move according to theory. Theory states that nothing is impossible, and we have yet to disprove that god exists, you cannot just simplify go around and say the bible is a fairytale due to you not knowing if it really is, you call for science to disprove religion, but that is a complex area, since most religions have been edited (such as the bible) or taken out of context (e.g. torah, qur'an). You shouldn't need to make a person believe a certain view, that is true ignorance, in which limits knowledge. A person should be entitled to their own views, rather more not be taught what is, "right" or "wrong" but what they deem for themselves. Who am I to say, Jesus walked on water? Though many people at the time believe that he did, so their belief came from that. If you truly did read the bible, you will find a lot of things backing science, or clashing against science. None which provides or disproves that god is real, but it sure does make a strong argument that makes some have belief. In a debate, it helps to spell correctly, so the other person can understand your views correctly.
@messiahcollins I've been following your posts from sometime. It seems as though you are set in your beliefs and that's perfectly fine with everyone on this website. Everyone tries to answer your questions accordingly, but when someone posts, you seem to reiterate the same thing. "I don't believe in the bible and I never will." If you aren't willing to look at it from someone else's point of view, why ask? There seems to be a few misconceptions in your post and I will hopefully address them from a Christian standpoint, since you are talking about Jesus. God, our Heavenly Father has provided a way for us to live with him again. He sent us here to Earth to allow us to enjoy all of His blessings. He has provided a plan so that we can accomplish this purpose. In the scriptures, it is referred to a merciful plan, the plan of happiness, the plan of redemption and the plan of salvation. Through Jesus Christ's atonement, he made it possible for EACH and EVERY one of us to live with our Father in Heaven once again. Our life on Earth is a blessing. We are to prepare to return to God's presence. Thanks to the Atonement, we will ALL be resurrected whether we have done good or evil in this life. We will all have a perfect, immortal body of flesh and bones that will never again be subject to disease, pain or death. The resurrection makes it possible to return to God's presence to be judged, but does not guarantee that we will live in His presence again. During our life here on Earth, we make choices regarding both good and evil. God rewards us according to our works and desires. Since He rewards EVERYONE according to their deeds, there are different kingdoms of glory to which we may be assigned to after the Judgment. 1. Celestial Kingdom – Those who have repented of their sins, and received the ordinances of the gospel and kept the associated covenants will be cleansed by the Atonement of Jesus Christ. They will live in God’s presence, become like Him, and receive a fullness of joy. They will live together for eternity with those of their family who qualify. In the scriptures the Celestial Kingdom is compared to the brightness of the sun. 2. Terrestrial Kingdom – Those who do not accept the fullness of the gospel of Jesus Christ but live honorable lives will receive a place in the terrestrial kingdom. This kingdom is compared to the glory of the moon. 3. Telestial Kingdom – Those who continued in their sins and did not repent in this life will receive their reward in the lowest kingdom. It is called the Telestial Kingdom. This kingdom is compared to the glory of the stars. *It has been said that the Telestial Kingdom is more beautiful than the most beautiful place on Earth.
The question your asking contains worship and follow but I really don't know the difference. The following of something, as a teaching, is worship some get it scripturally others through their family and culture. Many of our laws are Biblically based, though sadly some are changed to the worse rather than to the better. As to not understanding I can sympathize because I had the same problem when I was young. The KJB Bible is written in the 16th century language which is vastly different than modern day, I us the Merriam-Webster Collegiate Dictionary 11th Edition which gives the date a word was first used in English and the following definitions. This dictionary is essential for a time period reading, even the constitution. The truth about modern day is the Universe is God and science is the Prophet and according to our democratic society the majority determines what's acceptable, moral. Though the Bible at one time gave a concise means of teaching the younger generation morals today its left to the secular society to teach and punish.
i want compare this to simple example , but ill do this time if there is engineering that create robot to wash the dishes for example then the robot were broke the dishes instead of washing it , any way he wud damage the robot smash it he dnt want it any more cuz it dint do it job but no ones call the engineering a tyrant. any way if u believe in god u wudnt ask such a qs , cuz if u believe in him u wud know its right , and if u dnt believe , u wont care for the answer any way :D
