Does anyone know how to remember complex reactions in Organic Chemistry without having to memorise them?

Like Finkelstein reaction for instance, I'm just wondering if there's a way to remember the components of the reaction without actually having to commit them to memory.

Understand them and them you should practice writing those but first understand them using your chemistry sense! n also some common chemical sense of course! Like in Iron extraction understand why do these reactions occur etc etc if you understand it there is no need to MEMORISE!
