a gym floor is 6 cm in width and 9 cm in length, what is the width of the gym floor if the length is 25 meters?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (lncognlto):

6:9 is in the ration 2:3. Therefore, if the length becomes 24 instead of 9, 24 divided by 3 and then multiplied by 2 will give the width of the floor.

OpenStudy (lncognlto):

or \[\frac{ 24 }{ 3 } \times 2 = ?\]

OpenStudy (lncognlto):

*ratio not ration

thank you lovey!! xx

I may not be doing it the right way but the answer would be correct. According to the Rectangle. It states length is 9 cm. In reality it is 24 meter. So we will find how much length is of 1 cm: \[\frac{ 24 }{ 9 } = 2.666666666666667\] \[ 1 cm = 2.666666666666667\] So 6 cm would be? \[6 cm = 2.666666666666667 \times 6\]

OpenStudy (disco619):

\[2.666666666666667 \times 6 = 16 \]
