a light ray is entering the water from the air. how should the light ray repond to the change of mediem?

thomaster (thomaster):

The light will refract.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

will the light bend down or up

thomaster (thomaster):

When a ray of light passes from a less dense material (air) into a denser material (water) it is bent away from the surface between the two materials. This means that in this situation the angle of refraction is always less than the angle of incidence.
