6x-3y=30

OpenStudy (anonymous):

to put it into y = mx + b form you would have to isolate the y. To do that, first, you would subtract -6x on both sides which leaves you with -3y = 30 - 6x right? then, you would divide by -3 on both sides and yea simplifies to y = -10 + 2x cheers

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

What is needed? Are we graphing? Have you ever seen the "Intercept Form"? Very useful. Divide by 30. \(6x-3y=30 \implies \dfrac{x}{5}+\dfrac{y}{-10} = 1\) Both x- and y-intercepts are rather staring at you.
