A car is traveling at a speed of 50 km/hr. The positive y-axis is north and the positive x-axis is east. Resolve the car's velocity vector (in 2-space) into components if the car is traveling in each of the following directions: east south southeast northwest

Draw a coordinate plane and place each of the velocity vectors on the plane (I would use a different set for each question). The east and south should be easy as the North Vector for a horizontal line 50 KM in distance (East to the right) is zero. Remember the South is a Negative. For the SE and NW draw the 45 degree angle in the appropriate quadrant and then use the 1-1-sqrt(2) relationship in 45-45-90 triangles to resolve the N/S E/W components.
